About Andy

Andy helps clients manage difficult relationships, relieve anxiety, and restore balance to their lives.

Andy is an expert at working with clients in crisis and in teaching people how to relate to difficult and manipulative individuals. He works best with clients who are navigating high-pressure lives and complex relationships.

Clients describe Andy as approachable, direct, and realistic in his counseling methods. He relates particularly well to men and women who are hesitant to attend therapy. Andy works closely with many of Nashville’s elite executives, attorneys, medical professionals, musicians, and athletes.

Background & Other Interests

Before launching Freestone River, Andy founded and led a successful group practice in Nashville, managing a team of outstanding clinicians. After nearly 20 years at the helm, he stepped away from business ownership to focus his full attention on the work he values most: helping clients create real and lasting change.

Andy lives in Franklin, TN with his wife and two children. They are an active family who enjoy camping, hiking, and travel. Andy is an avid fly fisherman and licensed fly fishing guide. Outside of therapy, Andy leads monthly professional development groups, with a 3-day guided fly fishing trip as the annual capstone.
